​
Aliesha Spence is the Principal and Director of UCANDANCE Studio and has proudly celebrated 25 years as owner, teacher, and leader of the studio. Over the past quarter century, Aliesha has built UCANDANCE into a welcoming, inspiring, and professional dance environment where students of all ages and abilities are supported to grow, thrive, and achieve their goals.

Aliesha began her dance training at just three years of age and quickly developed a deep love for all styles of dance, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Singing and Acro. Her extensive experience as a performer, competitor, and educator has shaped her commitment to delivering high-quality training while nurturing confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of dance.

She holds an Advanced Diploma of Dance Teaching & Management, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and Certificate IV in Community Services (Disability). Aliesha is also certified through the Acrobatic Dance Association, Progressing Ballet Technique, and holds Ready Set Dance Platinum Certification. She is a registered teacher with the Australian Teachers of Dancing and is fully certified in Keeping Children Safe in Dance.

Aliesha’s achievements include being named Dance Australia Magazine’s Regional Hero (2021), Grada Performing Arts Outstanding Student of the Year, Campus Student of the Year, recipient of the Victorian Arts Award for Skills Victoria, and receiving a special mention at the Georgy Awards for Outstanding Choreography.

In addition to leading UCANDANCE Studio, Aliesha has previously worked as a Coordinator for TAFE’s Full-Time Performing Arts Dance Teaching Course. Her performance credits include Crown Casino, Disneyland Hong Kong, and Dreamworld, and she has competed and adjudicated at both interstate and international levels. Her training includes full-time study at Grada Performing Arts, Melbourne’s Spectrum Dance, and extensive professional mentoring with industry leaders.

Aliesha remains passionate about ongoing professional development and continues to invest in learning, growth, and mentorship for both her teachers and students. As Principal of UCANDANCE Studio, she takes great pride in fostering a supportive and inclusive community where creativity is encouraged, confidence is built, and dreams continue to unfold.
