UCANDANCE Principal Aliesha Spence feels honoured to be entering her 23rdd year as owner, principal and teacher at UCANDANCE Studio. It is here that she continues to strive to make it a fun, loving and passionate Dance Studio available to all. Aliesha continues to invest in providing opportunities for her students, keeping up with current dance industry trends, seeking and mentoring leading teachers & ensuring the studio provides its best business practices and services to her families.
Her passion and training in Dance commenced at 3 years of age, loving all genres from Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Singing and Acro.
Her love and passion for Dance now remain priority at the Studio. It is at the Studio where she mentors and trains with her teachers and students in helping them step the right foot forward to help see our students, teachers and studio Dreams unfold.
After an extensive history in competing and completing many Dance examinations, Aliesha completed her Advanced Diploma of Dance Teaching & Management, Cert 4 in Training and Assessment, Cert 4 in Community Services (Disability), Acrobatic Dance Association Teachers Certification, Progressing Ballet Technique teachers certificate and Ready Set Dance Platinum certification. Aliesha is a registered and trained teacher through the Australian Teachers Of Dancing and has completed the certification for the Keeping Children Safe In Dance.
Aliesha has been awarded Dance Australia’s Magazine, regional hero 2021, Grada Performing Arts outstanding student of the year, Campus student of the Year, Victorian Arts Award for Skills Victoria and a special mention with a Georgy Award for Outstanding Choreography.
Aliesha has had prior experience as Coordinator for Tafes Full Time Performing Arts Dance Teaching course. Aliesha has performed at many prestigious events, including Crown Casino, Disneyland Hong Kong & Dreamworld. Aliesha has competed and adjudicated in competitions at an interstate and International level. Trained by an array of Industry teachers at Grada Full Time Dance, Melbourne’s Spectrum and many professional mentoring teachers.
Aliesha continues to attend Professional Development Seminars and training and is passionate about teaching, sharing and mentoring her knowledge with her students and teachers. As principal of UCANDANCE Studio, it brings much pleasure to provide a community for all to belong to.
